Manufacturing in 2017

Manufacturing technologies are evolving fast, but never as fast as they as will in 2017. For one, manufacturers are rushing to include advances in technology, such as artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, in their manufacturing processes. Indeed, one of the reasons why the manufacturing sector changes is the impact of these new technologies.

You also have to keep in mind that global political climate matters too since they also impact the sector. Of note are the recent changes in administration in the US and European politics, especially the Brexit vote. For a deeper look into these and more manufacturing trends to watch out for in 2017, read on.

Trade tensions is one of the things that will be undergoing some advancement this 2017 since the recent political changes in both the US and Europe has surely put a freedom to the international trade. In the US, for instance, Donald Trump was sworn in as president in January 2017. Donald Trump had also issued a statement that he is not eager on some of the trade meals that happened in the past administration.

One such deal is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP), a trade deal between the US and 12 Pacific-Rim countries. The TTP is now good as dead because of the administration of Donald Trump. Another trade which is at risk in the administration of Donald Trump is the Transatlantic Trade and Partnership or simply known as TTIP which is a deal with Europe. Although it is not dead in the water like the TTP, it too has stalled, and its future is uncertain. However, the biggest political change that has happened to Europe is the withdrawal of UK to the European union. Known as Brexit, this withdrawal has more than complicated trade between the UK and continental Europe. Even worse, Brexit has affected trade relations between many European companies. Based on experts, in order to normalize the relationship with each countries, companies need to negotiate with each other. This explains why small business manufacturers need to adapt new business environment so that there will be a good relationship with each other.

The CMMS can also be called as the Computerized Maintenance Management System will surely have a great makeover in the year 2017. It is important that businesses can conduct routine maintenance in order to keep the manufacturing process moving. Repairing a manufactured tool and fixing a broken window can be comparable in this process. Sometimes, the maintenance that a company can offer is not enough, thus, it is really important that the maintenance increases its efficiency, profits and the production line’s lifespan.

The CMMS system now has a goal which is to store, track and record maintenance data.
